About this calculator

The Body Fat Calculator estimates your body fat percentage using the U.S. Navy circumference method, which uses waist, neck (and for women, hip) measurements alongside height - no calipers or scales required.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's a well-validated estimation method with a typical margin of error of around 3-4%, making it a convenient alternative to skinfold calipers or DEXA scans for most people.

Men and women tend to store fat differently, so the Navy method uses different circumference measurements and coefficients for each - women's calculations additionally factor in hip circumference.

You need waist and neck circumference for men, plus hip circumference for women, all measured in centimeters, along with your height.
